Episode (22)
One of the aspects is that Allah Almighty created every type and kind of creation in pairs. Allah says: {And of all things We created two mates [i.e., counterparts]; perhaps you will remember.} [Adh-Dhariyat: 49]. This means that all creatures exist in pairs: sky and earth, night and day, sun and moon, land and sea, light and darkness, faith and disbelief, death and life, misery and happiness, Paradise and Hell, as well as animals and plants. Thus, Allah said: {perhaps you will remember.}; meaning to recognize that the Creator is One, without any partner. The duality of creation thus serves as a sign of the oneness of The Creator, Blessed and Exalted.
Al-Qurtubi says: So that you may know that the Creator of pairs is One, for He is not subject to any movement or stillness, light or darkness, sitting or standing, beginning or end, for He is the One and Only, {There is nothing like unto Him,} [Ash-Shuraa: 11]. Allah also says: {Exalted is He who created all pairs - from what the earth grows and from themselves and from that which they do not know.} [Ya-Sin: 36]. He gave examples of pairs in plants and humans, which are known to people. He further mentioned that the concept of pairings in creation is universal, including what is known to people and what is unknown to them. Perhaps this is a fundamental principle of the entire universe, even extending to inanimate objects. It has become known that the atom—the smallest known particle of matter—is composed of two different types of electric charge, negative and positive, which pair and combine, as observed in astronomy and other entities.
