The wisdom behind the creation of humans has been defined and outlined by Allah Almighty. This wisdom preceded creation, and before Adam, peace be upon him, emerged from non-existence into existence, Allah clarified the purpose behind His creation, which is succession. He said: {And [mention, O Muhammad], when your Lord said to the angels, "Indeed, I will make upon the earth a successive authority."} [Al-Baqarah: 30].
This noble verse is one of the three answers provided in the Holy Quran to define the purpose and wisdom behind the creation of humans. These verses are:
{And I did not create the jinn and mankind except to worship Me.} [Adh-Dhariyat: 56].
{"Indeed, I will make upon the earth a successive authority."} [Al-Baqarah: 30].
{You are the best nation produced [as an example] for mankind. You enjoin what is right and forbid what is wrong and believe in Allah.} [Ali 'Imran: 110].
This call represents the essence of this nation, which has granted it the quality of being the best among all previous nations. Therefore, a person's purpose in life is not limited to the realm of desires; otherwise, they would descend to the level of animals. Rather, they were created to be a successor, dedicated to serving Allah in their own selves, worshiping their Lord, and inviting others to obey Allah and follow His commands.
When a person fulfills this mission, they are like a good tree that bears the sweetest and finest fruits, producing its yield at all times by the permission of its Lord. On the other hand, one who neglects the purpose of their existence is like a barren tree that bears no fruit; its end will be cutting down, becoming firewood and fuel along with stones for the fire.
