Episode (100)
Iblees was in Paradise and witnessed the stages of Adam's creation, from dust to clay to dry clay from altered black mud. Now he sees him as a tangible figure lying in Paradise, and he observes him closely. Anas ibn Malik (may Allah be pleased with him) reported that the Messenger of Allah (peace be upon him) said: “When Allah fashioned Adam in paradise, He left him as long as Allah wished to leave him; then Iblees began to visit him and consider what kind of being he was, and when he saw that he had a hollow space within he recognised that he had been created as a being not possessed of self-control”.
Iblees's circling around the human figure was an inspection from which he deduced that it contained a cavity and required food and drink. Thus, Adam was inherently unstable, unable to control himself or regulate his impulses. He could not restrain himself when angry, nor could he control himself during temptation, desire, or the allurements of worldly pleasures because he was hollow.
Iblees recognized the weakness of this figure and kept this critical discovery to himself, planning to exploit it in the future when necessary. He intended to approach the children of Adam to lead astray those who cannot control their desires, who are unable to withstand worldly pleasures, and who cannot maintain their composure during trials and hardships.
Allah Almighty said: {Allah wants to make clear to you [the lawful from the unlawful] and guide you to the [good] practices of those before you and to accept your repentance. And Allah is Knowing and Wise. (26) Allah wants to accept your repentance, but those who follow [their] passions want you to digress [into] a great deviation. (27) And Allah wants to lighten for you [your difficulties]; and mankind was created weak. (28)} [An-Nisa: 26-28].
